West Texas Girl Scout Council Holds Big Spring Meeting
The annual meeting of the West Texas Girl Scout Council was held at the Cosden Club in Big Spring on December 1. Attendees from 16 county areas included Mrs. S. J. May and council president Eldon Mahon who awarded service numerals for 5 to 20 years. Dick Ream received the Century Club Plaque and certificates of appreciation were given by Mrs. Austin McCloud.

Coke Committee Earns 1966 Distinguished Service Award
The Coke County Historical Survey Committee qualified for the 1966 Distinguished Service Award from the Texas State Historical Survey Committee and its Texas Historical Foundation. The honor was announced in Fort Worth at the statewide meeting by TSHSC President John Ben Shepperd. Members include Mrs. Bryan Yarbrough of Robert Lee and others from Robert Lee Bronte Water Valley Sanco and Silver City.
