Young McGregor woman killed in weekend car crash
Funeral services for Cheryl Christmas, 18, of McGregor, were held there Tuesday after she died Saturday night in a single vehicle crash while driving from Waco to McGregor. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Bill Christmas and granddaughter of the late Lawrence Sims of Bronte, with Bronte relatives among attendees.

Fletcher Captures Top Antique at Sweetwater Show
Leonard Fletcher of Bronte exhibited the first prize antique a chair his grandfather made after the Civil War at the Wildcat Coin Chip Show in Sweetwater. The prize was an uncirculated 1887 silver dollar. Mrs Fletcher won a door prize a 1961-D Franklin half dollar.
