They captured second at Amarillo, then first in Tulsa to claim South Central regional title, with prior firsts in Texas and a five-state regional. They placed 14th nationally in Cleveland. Humble Oil marks 25 years as Southwest Conference sponsor by adding a videotaped Game of the Week, 11 tapes plus 70 radio broadcasts and four live telecasts. Live games include Baylor Tech, SMU Georgia Tech, Rice Army, and TCU Texas. Network coverage spans 28 stations in Texas and New Mexico for tape telecasts at 5 p.m. CST, with 24 stations for live telecasts. Over 130 radio stations across 16 states will carry games from 25 stadiums. The group enjoyed a steak bake and pool swim at Loyd Wynnes in San Angelo after visiting Tempe Arizona en route to Texas to pick up Mrs Parker who plans to teach in Blythe this fall.
