Junior Rodeo Winners Announced at Bronte Event
The Coke County Roping Club sponsored a Saturday rodeo in Bronte attracting about 900 fans. Net proceeds are estimated at 400 to 450 dollars to fund arena and equipment improvements. many local riders from San Angelo Robert Lee Bronte and nearby towns earned top spots in senior and junior divisions with multiple events including bull riding flag races and pole bending. The West Texas Rodeo Association finals are planned for August 29 and 30 with top cowhands expected to compete.

Football season tickets go on sale at the office of Sept. C. B. Barbee. Reserved seats cost 7.50 for six home games, 25 cents more per game than the regular 1.00 admission. Last year’s holders have until Sept. 5 to renew. unsold seats go to the general public on a first come basis. Reserved seats center at the 50 yard line. Notify Barbee’s office by Sept. 5 to reserve.

Bronte ISD Equalization Board to Meet Tuesday
Bronte Independent School District will hold a board of equalization meeting at 1 p m next Tuesday in Bronte city hall. Property valuations in the district rise 10 percent for the new school year while the tax rate drops from 1 76 to 1 74 per 100, creating an 8 75 percent overall tax increase.
