Bronte School lacks a fifth grade teacher for the 1960-61 year. Supt. C. B. Barbee reports several applications received and expects to fill the vacancy with a competent teacher before classes begin.
The Coke Soil Conservation District lists supervisors and describes a conservation project on O W Newell's stock farm three miles south of Bronte. The plan includes a wildlife area for quail, cross fencing, a concrete livestock water tank and pipeline, blue panic seeded cropland, and soil moisture and temperature observations to guide growth and grazing. Courthouse rainfall records for the month and year are noted.
Floyd B. Ellington district manager says Social Security has served America for 25 years with 14 million beneficiaries. An open house will be held August 15 at 3 00 p m in the San Angelo office. Also notes a Caswell family reunion in Big Spring with relatives visiting from Bell Garden California.
Mr and Mrs Miles Clark and family from Palmdale California are spending a few days with Mrs Clark s parents Mr and Mrs Ben Murphy in a nearby town during a family visit.
Cheryl and Billy Braswell of Denver City visited their grandparents W. H. Braswell this past week. Eloise Hester spent last week in Andrews with Mr. Milford Phillips and returned home Friday to join the Phillips and Smith families for the weekend.
