Texas Farmers Begin 1949 Conservation Plan Outline
The 1949 Agricultural Conservation Program for Texas is being shaped to avoid delays in farmers submitting plans. B F Vance, chairman of the State PMA Committee, notes the National Outline approved by the Secretary of Agriculture outlines six major objectives including soil erosion control, cropping systems, range and pasture yields, irrigation water use, forestry, and drainage. County PMA committees will push locally needed practices, even those not yet well known, to address serious conservation problems.
