Texas Water Plan on August ballot faces major funding expansion
Texas voters on August 5 will decide Amendment 2 to expand the Water Development Fund by 3.5 billion dollars, lift a 4 percent interest cap, and broaden the Fund’s use for state and cross-border water projects. The plan envisions 67 dams, 33.6 million acre feet stored, 16.1 million flood control acre feet, and a vast 500 mile canal network to move up to 10 million acre feet annually, with repayment by water users.
