A county extension program invites residents to request a free mail-out series on food preservation. Topics include canning, freezing, pickling, jams, and sugar-free methods. A nurses' aide course sponsored by Texas State Technical Institute Sweetwater and Robert Lee Public Schools begins May 11. The first meeting gathers at 7 p.m. in Robert Lee High School. Interested persons may contact Mrs Joy Bagwell at 453-2740 for details.
A Monday night workshop at 7 30 at the Courthouse educated election officials from the Democratic and Republican primaries set for Saturday. County Clerk Winnie Waldrop led the session with a slide presentation by Secretary of State Mark White on Texas Election Code procedures. Judges and clerks from Robert Lee ISD and West Coke County Hospital elections attended.
