Former Bronte resident Wilson, now based in Lafayette, La., worked as a barber in Abilene before moving to Louisiana last summer. He completed a court reporting course in Abilene and has since been employed by a Louisiana court reporting firm.
Miss Johnnie Pearl Sims and Mr. Thomas Michael Luttrell announce their engagement from Bronte. The couple, both Bronte High School graduates, plan to wed June 12 with time and venue to be announced. Sims works in San Angelo city hall. Luttrell assists in a family dirt moving business.
The Women's Society for Christian Service met Monday April 27 at Mrs M Russell's home. Rev A S Masterson presented the second part of The Young Christian and His Money. Ten members were served refreshments. Next meeting is May 11 at the church with Mrs W G Cresap hostess. Nora Bridges worship leader and J W Labenske program leader. Topic will be Our Pledge. Wyley Clark visiting sister Mrs J W Carter in Fort Worth, left April 8 for several weeks.
Mr and Mrs Bobby Wrinkle of Liberal Kansas spent the weekend in Bronte with their parents Mr and Mrs Bill Wrinkle and Mr and Mrs Jesse Parker.
The week’s meals list barbecued bun meals with pork and beans on May 4, Lazy Daisy with rice and vegetables on May 5, corn dogs with fruit cobbler May 6, meatballs and spaghetti May 7, and oven baked chicken with sides May 8. Each day includes milk and assorted desserts or fruit.
