Blackwell schools announced the re election of all teachers with new assignments for some. Resignations include Mrs Gladys Mae Sims and Miss Mary Lanonitte with Joyce Dewbre replacing Miss Mullins. Local church WSCS met at the Methodist Church with Mrs Austin Jordan presiding.
San Angelo hosted the semi annual Shriners Ceremonial with over two thousand Nobles and ladies. Noble Galloway Calhoun, past Texas Grand Master and imperial potentate, spoke at the banquet and emphasized Shrine Crippled Children support. A 75 member class traveled the desert to Mecca for initiation, with parades, barbecue, and a dance to close. Local attendees and visitors, including Mrs. Ruth Coleman and McAfee Daniel, were noted along with the hospital program’s self funding.
Trustees named Bronte school staff for next year with Mrs. Floyd Collins re elected secretary. Bus drivers include Mrs. T E Tidwell Mrs Pete Gentry T G Greghorn Albert Davis and B G Timmons. J S Adair and Monroe Alexander were rehired as building custodians. Mary Walker will supervise lunchroom with assistants Mrs Tidwell and Mrs Gleghorn.
