Coke County Cancer Crusade Seeks Local Support
Bronte workers under Mrs. J. B. Mackey E. F. Glenn and Rev. M. R. Rogers reported $117 raised this week for Coca County's first Cancer Crusade. An open house in Robert Lee added $118, totaling over $200 toward a $400 quota. The drive, conducted by the American Cancer Society in April, funds public education and cancer research. Contributions urged at local officials or The Enterprise office.

Stamford Youth Receives Two Year Burglary Sentence
Roy S. Shelley aged 18 of Stamford was indicted for burglary in Coke County after allegedly breaking into the Ideal Case at Bronte on April 11 and stealing coins from a juke box and a cigarette vending machine. Judge Joe L. Mays sentenced him to two years in the penitentiary after indictment. A 15 year old accomplice was sent to juvenile authorities in San Angelo.
