Local Rancher Builds Four and Four Tenths Miles of Level Terraces
B D Gartman of Sanco completed four and two tenths miles of level closed end terraces as part of a soil and water conservation program with the Coke County SCD. SCS technicians designed and checked the terraces. ASC provided cost sharing. Four Robert Lee area high school girls were honored guests at a Save the Soil awards banquet in Big Spring, placing in district 2 while essays praised soil conservation efforts. District cooperators Glenn, Cumbie, Wojtek, Pentecost and others have recently pitland rangeland, with rainwater soaking deeper in pit land than on undisturbed ground.

MYF Members Enjoy Picnic at Ballinger
The Junior MYF of the Methodist church enjoyed a picnic supper at Ballinger and later attended the drive in theater.
