Bronte Women Hear Canning Lesson and Grab Box Plan

Miss Croslin, County Agent, demonstrated canning and drying of vegetables and discussed other fruit and vegetable preservation methods. Eleven members and three visitors attended as Mrs Ira Brown hosted. The group plans a meeting with Mrs Claud Ditmore on April 26 to address living together in the home and will bring a gift for the grab box.

Tennyson 4-H Girls Hold Meeting At School House

The Tennyson 4-H Club met at the school house on Tuesday afternoon April 10. Members made aprons and leadership roles were reassigned with Darynne Miller as president Wanda Brown as secretary Mary is song leader Louella as club delegate Dorothy Kellen as secretary and Hazel Irene James as club reporter.

Feeding tests show optimal protein levels for hog growth

Agricultural colleges and experiment stations advance hog breeding by testing protein in diets. University of Minnesota researcher BE Ferrin fed seven pig groups self-fed for 14 weeks, finding 18 percent protein best until 100 pounds and 15 percent afterward. Lower protein reduced gains and equality.

Sulphur Aids Prevention Of Lamb Coccidiosis

Coccidiosis in lambs may be prevented by adding ground crude sulphur to feed in proportions from 6 to Vy percent. The effectiveness of this treatment has been demonstrated by USDA trials with large lamb feeders. The Idaho Wool Growers Bulletin reports the finding.
