Mayor Ernest Ivey proclaims April 1957 as Cancer Control Month and urges support for the American Cancer Society Crusade seeking $600 in Coke County. The ACS campaign aims to raise $30,000,000 nationwide for research education and service, with the proclamation calling on the medical profession press and agencies to observe Cancer Control Month.

The junior class presents Aunt Susie Shoots the Works at 8 pm in the local auditorium. Admission is 25 cents for students and 50 cents for adults as the eccentric Aunt Susie inherits property and encounters mystery with Joy Herbert and a colorful cast.

Jimmy Brunson has moved to Pueblo Colorado to attend a railroad telegraphers school. His mother Mrs J L Brunson Mrs Billy Sid Evans and Miss Jo Roland accompanied him to Pueblo last weekend and they returned to Bronte Tuesday afternoon.
