One of 125 stations worldwide the center aims to predict shocks by logging location nature and frequency of quakes. Modgling, a Bronte native and geophysicist, supervises about 25 staff including three geophysicists and clerical workers.

He speaks at the Robert Lee BCD noon luncheon Thursday, and a 2 pm countywide meeting follows in the County Courtroom. A field tour of five stops, including Robert Lee and Winters feed lots, Bronte and Sweetwater pastures, starts Tuesday morning at 7:45 am at the courthouse.
