Bronte tennis champs claim big win in Angelo

In Friday action at Angelo, Bronte’s tennis team clinched a major victory. From the left in the upper photo are Glenn, Maria Rees, Peg Corley, Lisa Morrow, Robert, Don Hageman and Iker. Lower photo shows elementary winners Randy Barbee Keith McCutchen Norma Pruitt Kathy Riker Melody Holcombe. Glenn Miss Rees and Je Corley head to Mr and Mrs Murl Andrews after Don departs Friday for Ft Polk La for a 14 day army leave. they returned home Sunday.

District tennis meet yields multiple titles at San Angelo

The district tennis meet concluded with 140 points for the elementary, junior high, and senior divisions. Robert Lee took second with 60 points. Water Valley 5, Sterling City 10, Forsan 0. Bronte players led several events including David Glenn first in senior boys singles and Marla Rees Peggy Corley first in senior girls doubles.

Ballinger Scribes Remembrance for Sally E Touchstone McShan

Sally E Touchstone McShan of Ballinger died Friday after a long illness. Born November 11 1887 in Cameron County she married James Leslie McShan in 1907. Survivors include five sons two brothers three sisters thirteen grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Her family notes long time Maine community residence and Methodist Church membership.
