Funeral Mass was held Monday in Clinton Oklahoma for Mrs. Juanita C. Fuentez age 89. Burial followed at Clinton Cemetery. She died Friday at Oklahoma General Hospital. Born December 6 1880 in Del Rio she was survived by seven sons including D C Fuentez and Raymond Fuentez of Bronte and Gilbert Fuentez of Gouldthwaite, two daughters, 49 grandchildren, 106 great grandchildren and 15 great great grandchildren.

Revival Meeting Underway At First Baptist Bronte
Revival services are in progress at First Baptist Church in Bronte led by Rev. Johnny Smith with preaching from Wednesday through Sunday. Evening meetings start at 7 p m with morning sessions planned, while Rev. Chris Stewart and Rev. Harry Morris support singing and invitations to attend.

Tragic Abilene Car Crash Claims 15-Year-Old Mike Wrinkle
Funeral services were held for Michael Owain Wrinkle 15 at Central Baptist Church in Bronte. He died at Hendrick Memorial Hospital Abilene after a two car collision at 10 07 p m Saturday. Brother Roy Lee 16 was hospitalized in ICU and recovering. Other driver Frank Keesee 16 Merkel and Eric Butler Jr 16 Abilene were treated and released. Wrinkle born Jan 2 1955 in Oakland Calif lived in Bronte and was an eighth grader at Bronte School. Pallbearers included Danny Parker Charles Sims Darwin Scott Garland Spencer Ray Coulson and David Scott. Members of the Bronte Longhorn Band served as honorary pallbearers.

Royce Lee and his friend Mrs. Gonnie Adams of Austin spent part of their Easter holidays with his parents Mr. and Mrs. Royce Lee. They also visited in Ruidoso New Mexico with Mr. and Mrs. C. O. Richards and family. They are students at the University of Texas.

Bronte One-Act Wins Second in UIL District Contest
Bronte High School's one act play placed second at the district UIL contest held March 24 in Sterling City. Three cast members earned all star cast honors: Lynn Lawhon Melissa Lee and Randy Barbee. Directing was by Mrs Suzanne Perry. The Wool Shed featured Lynn Lawdon Brenda Phyllis Morris Mrs Ryder Brendi Glascock Jo Yardly Butt Yardly Melisa Lee Giles Matt Caperton with alternates Cathy Bryan Sandy Lee and Kenneth Stroebel. Miles earned first place overall.

High School Girls Win U Ball Championship
The high school girls volleyball team won the district title at Water Valley, defeating Water Valley 2-0 in both matches of the tourney. Cynthia Robinson led with 9 and Jolen e Vaughn 6 in game one, while Robinson and Melia Lee each had 5 in game two. The finals against Forsan were also 2-0 with Vaughn, Kiker, Robinson, and M. Lee scoring multiple points. A regional playoff is set for April 6 or 7, opponent and location TBA.

They will compete the district meet on Wednesday April 8 with Keith McCutchen Monica Flores and Gary Reilly among returning players from last year’s state champion squad led by sponsor James M. Raughto.
