Southern New England residents are invited to Newport tomorrow for a Navy training station anniversary program on Coaster's Island. Commandant Captain David W Todd leads a full afternoon and evening of football, dining, a sham battle, minstrel show, boxing bouts featuring Newport figures, a circus, ferris wheel, and prizes to fund the station athletic and illness funds.
The town ends Daylight Saving at 2:00 AM on the last Sunday of April marking standard time. Clocks go back one hour. Bristol branch electric train service remains on current time.
The Evening High School and the Evening Americanization School begin Monday October 4 at 7 o clock in Colt Memorial High School. The High School offers courses in Typewriting Stenography Bookkeeping Commercial Arithmetic English Drawing Millinery Sewing and Cooking. George J. O'Brien will be principal for both schools.
