Bristols Hand Fort Adams a 17 to 3 Defeat on Common
Bristols defeated the Fort Adams team 17 to 3 in Newport on the common Saturday afternoon. The Bristols rallied in the fifth and added ten runs across the sixth and eighth innings, aided by Maguire’s control issues for Fort Adams and heavy hitting from VanAlmkirk who amassed four hits, including two doubles and a triple. Fort Adams, despite three fielding errors, showed periods of solid play but could not contain Bristol’s offensive surge as Bristol's outfield and infield combined for seven Bristol errors yet still secured the one-sided win amid a large Bristol crowd and marching band accompaniment.
