Public criticism grows over Bristol County water supply
Drought and two hurricanes exposed flaws in the Bristol County Water Company and spurred state and local action. Plans include a permanent Shad Factory by-pass, raising Anawan dam storage, and Kirkemuit reservoir improvements to prevent saltwater seepage and ensure uninterrupted supply. Officials acknowledge being outguessed by nature but promise proactive measures and resident vigilance.
