Brown Alumni Banquet Highlights Brown Vision and Hazing Debate
The Bristol Brown Alumni Association held its third annual banquet and reunion at Hotel Belvedere with about thirty Sons of Brown and guests. President Faunce urged broader student life, social growth, and a Brown night at the Brown Union, while condemning hazing as others recalled college days. Speakers included Congressman Sheffield and Governor Lippitt, who stressed restraint on hazing and urged stronger state-wide support for Brown. Professors MacDonald Munro and Judge Bosworth reflected on outreach to towns, foreigners, and the university’s social atmosphere, ending with calls to keep alumni connected and active.
