Drowning of Boiler Maker Oscar Nelson Off Prudence Island
Oscar Nelson a 41 year old boiler maker for the Texas Oil Company of Providence drowned off the Prudence Island northeast bay while on a Providence fishing trip aboard the Agnes. The steamer rocking caused him to roll into the water as the party of ten searched the area through daylight and all day. Local authorities of Portsmouth Bristol and Capt. Lacey were informed and renewed efforts to locate the body with relatives visiting the scene.
