Two Bristol youths and a West Barrington man were arrested after a theft of 47 cartons of cigarettes from First National Supermarket. Pagano pleaded guilty to larceny, Kee to receiving stolen goods, and 61 cartons were recovered at West Barrington locations. The juvenile suspect will face Family Court, with sentences set for Sept. 11.

Tre Green and White football squad opens the season with a Saturday test at Warren against Warren Tigh in the second game of a double-header for the Rhode Island Injury Fund. Proceeds support injured athletes. four Friday games at Cranston Stadium and two Saturday contests at Warren. Wide note on schedule, venues, and admission.
A marble tablet honoring Wallis Eastburn Howe and Mary Locke Howe was consecrated during a Holy Communion service at St. Michael's Church. The ceremony marked the church's 100th anniversary building, with Rev. Halsey DeW. Howe presenting the tablet. The Rev. Mr Howe preached, noting the parish’s unity and racial diversity, followed by a coffee hour in the church yard.
