G I Bill Unemployment Aid Directly Routed to RIU C Board
The G I Bill Title V provisions take effect September 4 1944 allowing readjustment allowances for unemployed veterans. Rhode Island Unemployment Compensation Board will administer benefits with VA aid and local offices handling applications. A Veterans Representative will hear appeals at the RIU C central office. First benefits payable on September 10 1944 for agencies on a calendar week basis.

Aerial Gunnery Training Details for Air Corps Reserve
Young men 17 may join the Air Corps Enlisted Reserve to begin training as aerial gunners. The six week flexible gunnery course covers distance wind drift and speed with skeet ranges and moving targets. Successful applicants wear blue and silver ER wings and advance to active duty at 18 for further training.
