Mrs Cary Chase Wilson welcomed about 30 members and guests at Linden Place Bristol on Wednesday for a Bristol Garden Club gathering. The program featured motion pictures by Mrs Daniel W Knowlton, cataloging Cathedral gardens and local club members. Refreshments were served by Mrs Wilson with help from Mrs Perry and Mrs Dixon. The next meeting will be at Mrs Alfred Merriman's Hope Street home on Sept 14.

Thirteen Colt High School Band members under Bristol Rotary Club sponsorship will conduct a door to door campaign tomorrow to raise the remaining 120 dollars needed for band uniforms. Gladys Brightman defeated Clara Herreshoff 3-6 6-4 6-4 in the finals of the invitation girls singles at Excelsior Tennis Club Tuesday. She dropped the first set but rallied to win the last two, showing strong future prospects. A tea followed for players and supporters, with Roberta Dixon Ruth Palmer and Janice Carr on the organizing committee. The three day tournament was deemed a success and to become annual.
