Paraders Split Over Union Band Rights in Bristol Parade

A Sunday Catholic Total Abstinence Union parade in Bristol faced a rift over union versus non union bands. Clarke's Band and the Hedley Livsey Band refused to march after Newport musicians joined the lineup, splitting the procession and dampening enjoyment despite a well planned program and favorable weather.

Parade and Banner Raising By Colt Guards Tonight

A Roosevelt and Fairbanks banner will be raised at Hope and State streets after a parade of the Colt Guards led by Eagle Band. The route runs from Republican headquarters on Stradford and Hope to Town Bridge and back, ending with the banner raising and a post event address by Jos eph E. Fletcher. Also a flag will rise at N L R Company factory with W K Davis on Constitution street. General Orders No 1 directs Colt Guards captains to assemble at 7 43 Tuesday evening Oct 25 at Republican Headquarters.
