Jose M D Azevedo a former police constable was found guilty of manslaughter for firing on a car at Constitution and Wood streets July 31 1921 fatally wounding Ernest Clulee of Attleboro He was sentenced yesterday in the Superior Court by Judge Hahn to seven months in jail on the jury s mercy recommendation and after denying a motion for a new trial

Bicycle Crash Injures Gilbert Silva at Hope and Bradford
Gilbert Silva of 30 Cole street was injured Friday evening when his bicycle collided with a car driven by William Childs of Newport at the Hope and Bradford streets intersection at 5 30. He suffered a head wound requiring stitches and abrasions to his arms and legs. He was treated by Dr M Merriman and returned home in a police patrol with Officer Breen.

Harvest Festival at St Michael's Church with parish turnout
The second Harvest Festival at St Michael's Church Friday evening drew large parish attendance. Rev John Howard Deming of St George's Newport delivered the sermon on Mystery in Life and in Religion. The full choir sang as clematis and autumn foliage adorned the pulpit and chancel. Offerings included fruit vegetables cereals tea coffee cocoa canned fruit preserves flour apples potatoes and money. Sunday school classes also contributed. Proceeds go to St Andrew's Industrial School Barrington.

Troop Committee Night Observed By Bristol Scouts
The Bristol Troops of the Boy Scouts hold their monthly Troop Committee Night at 7 30 in Artillery Armory. Troop 1 and Troop 2 practice this evening with drills in infantry tactics and rally events. A court of honor for first and second class scouts will be held and results of the monthly Efficiency Contest announced.
