Landfill Reform Fails to Move Forward at Planning Board

Public Works director Frank Muzerall angrily told the Planning Board he is fed up after two and a half years of fighting the Minturn Landfill issue. He presented a full report with proposed bans on rubber and logs, permit requirements, per cubic foot charges, a shredding machine, a six foot fence, and an additional worker. Council President Arthur Roderick previously turned down funds for the fence, and Muzerall claimed the report has not been discussed by the Town Council. He thanked the board for support while noting council inaction. Anthony Nunes urged incineration to curb air pollution, warning of costs though the town would pay for improved operations.
