Pentecostal Church Sermons and Cottage Meeting Held

At the Ste Miss Custance preached a sermon from 1 Chronicles 12 33 at the morning service and Rev Miss Allen spoke from Isaiah 55 6 at the evening service. Miss Tunice Motlen was the soloist and Miss Mabel Bovay sang at the evening service with a cottage meeting this evening at 608 Wood Street Ralph Morgan residence.

Local Liberty Loan rallies planned in Bristol

Citizens urged to support the second Liberty Loan with a strong two night effort. Farrand S. Stranahan of Providence will speak at 8 PM at the Hotel Belvedere. Tomorrow a parade by the Herreshoff Band at 7 PM will precede Ira Lloyd Letts addressing from the Industrial Trust Bank steps. The Bristol branch stays open for subscriptions until 6 PM, then 7 PM onward as demand lasts.

Stenographers Wanted for Federal Civil Service

The Civil Service Commission seeks 10 000 typewriter operators and stenographers for Washington departments. Red Cross to Send Christmas Gifts to Military Men

The American Red Cross Woman's Bureau plans Christmas packets for all service members in the Army and Navy. Lombardi Convicted for Beer Sale at Steam Wharf

Salvatore Lombardi admitted sufficient evidence to convict for selling beer without authority to Mariano Cavalho Oliveira on Steam boat wharf on October 13. Judge F H Hammill fined him 20 dollars plus costs and sentenced him to 10 days in Providence County Jail. He appealed to the Superior Court for trial.
