Town Council Meeting Reviews Taxes and Unlicensed Dogs
At a semi monthly Bristol Rhode Island session the Town Council discussed about twelve thousand dollars in unpaid taxes dating back to 1906 and more than 300 unlicensed dogs with delinquent owners given a chance to pay. The council also approved licenses for moving picture shows and several victualing licenses and reestablished guide posts. A special constable was appointed and street improvements along with water drainage concerns were reviewed. Executive session followed.

Large attendance at the seventh annual Rhode Island State Conference of Charities and Corrections met at the Hotel Belvedere Bristol with sessions on institutional care environment of deprived youth and defective speech in children. An automobile tour and dinner followed. Brown University’s J Q Dealey presided as toastmaster. resolutions noted deaths of Jacksons and set Providence as next host.

Samuel Wardwell who runs boat shops at Bristol harbor and Edith Burdick of Westerly were married Saturday at The Elms in Lower Pawcatuck Westerly. Rev. Williams officiated with double ring. Bridesmaid Nellie Avery and best man William Wardwell attended. They plan to reside at 843 Hope Street Bristol after December 1. The bride trained as a teacher at Rhode Island State Normal School.
