Town Council adopts police officer resignations and fills vacancy
The town council accepted the resignation of Hugh P Breen after five years on the permanent police force and filled the vacancy by electing William T Cashin. Cashin, a World War veteran and native of the town, earlier served as a night patrolman and has a background in printing. The meeting also approved a milk license, appointed special constables, and noted Armistice Day observance and Education Week plans.

The Bristol P T A held its fall meeting in the Colt Memorial High School auditorium with Mrs George Cote presiding. Miss Maria Norris spoke on Belgium while Charles H Carter and Charles M Morgan contributed, and Mrs Cote accompanied vocal solos. Mrs Herbert Newman was elected treasurer and the secretary post was postponed.

Funeral services for Joe Joseph Fuegundes were held at St Elizabeth's Church after a several months illness. The 37 year old Portu gal native lived nine years here and worked in the National India Rubber Company wire division. Survived by wife Rosaline and six children and a brother in Portugal. Burial followed at St Mary's Cemetery.
