Doric Club Holds Successful Whist Night at Masonic Temple
The Doric Club hosted a whist evening at the Masonic Temple on Hope and Church streets with strong attendance. Prizes awarded to ladies include a cut glass vase and a 14 carat necklace. gentlemen received a pearl-handled penknife and a silver pencil with consolation items noted as well. Refreshments of ice cream and cake were served.

Frederick A Wright died Friday morning at about 10 o'clock in Benjamin Church Home for Aged Men. He was 85 turning 86, born in this town, worked at National India Rubber Company and ran Church Street House with his wife. His wife died 12 years ago and he had no near relatives. Funeral held yesterday at 2 pm at the Home, with Rev. O H Wallace officiating. Burial at Juniper Hill Cemetery.
