Dr. Charles A. Serbst of Marquette Michigan has accepted a cardiology fellowship at Tulane University. He served four and a half years in the Army, reached lieutenant colonel, and was once a German prisoner. He is a staff member at St. Mary’s Hospital and is praised by the Amvets post for veterans service.

Bristol Philatelic Society Celebrates Sixth Birthday
The Bristol Philatelic Society marked its sixth anniversary at the monthly meeting in the Congregational Church kitchen. Organized in 1945, with Archdeacon Anthony J. Parshley as president, the nominating committee led by Elwin A. Hill proposed officers: Anthony J. Nunes president, Carl H Witherell vice president, Jessie Molasky secretary, George H Jerauld treasurer, and Elmer A Angell plus Dr. Oscar Mersman on the committee. An auction is planned for Nov 8 with A A Edmonds as auctioneer, and Walter H Angell will host a stamp quiz at the December meeting.

Veteran's Home Holds First Catholic Mass in 61 Years

Two Cars Damaged In Morning Hope Street Collision
At 1:10 AM on Hope street near Vern dale Circle two cars were damaged with no serious injuries. Joseph B. Finucci 49 of 24 Locust street North collided with a left rear of a parked car owned by George W. Burns 18 of 12 Union street Warren. Burns’ passenger Robert Head 18 of 255 Main street Warren was thrown to the ground. The Burns car was stopped for faulty ignition and towed from the scene.

Body of Bristol Sergeant Returns Here Tomorrow
