Town Council Tax Remittance Sparks Controversy
To the Editor of the Phoenix a letter condemns the Town Council for remitting the tax of Mrs. Williams for 1909. It questions motives, notes two councilmen are St Michael's Church members, and argues such remission undercuts tax law and sets a dangerous precedent. Another note corrects that only one councilman, not three, is a vestryman.
