Welcome Home Col Colt in Bristol Firework Parade
Bristol honors Col Colt on his return after two years with a large public celebration. The National India Rubber Company plant will glow with 2000 electric globes and a Welcome sign as streets and the Colt Memorial High School display brighten. A 180 strong Reception Committee meets at Hotel Belvedere then parades to the depot to greet him with bombs, bands, and a three-obit welcome, followed by a formal presentation of a silver framed photograph at the Colt Memorial High School.

Republican Caucus Ends In Surprising Victory For Hammill
The first Republican caucus under the new law at Town Hall produced an unexpected landslide for Frauk H. Hammill over Stephen T. Church with 356 to 189 votes. Ballot sizes differed, prompting Church to challenge the legality, but the chairman ruled the two-size ballots were allowed for the same candidate list. Police kept non-listed voters out as the hall filled to capacity.
