Properties include 13 room three family, 11 room houses, 96 acres with fruit trees, and a 17 room house on Hope Street with six acres priced up to 20 006 dollars and references to file numbers.
The Bristol town council held a semi monthly meeting receiving five new damage claims from residents linked to the August Bristol fireworks factory explosion. An east side Hope street parking ordinance was adopted despite merchant opposition, and a fire apparatus safety ordinance was also approved. Insurance on school buildings was discussed as the town awarded the State street rebuild contract to Plumb Contracting of Providence for 9802.50, with work to start immediately and several sidewalk improvements approved.
Joseph Bruno of 157 Bradford street faces murder and assault charges after Antone Enos Medeiros, 30, of 178 Columbia street was shot and died near Bruno's restaurant. James Fragosa, 2, was wounded in the left arm as a party ejected from the establishment tried to reenter.
A sparsely attended Republican caucus in Artillery Hall nominated William Dixon for State Senator George S Howe for Representative District 1 and Alexander Fales for Representative Second District. About a dozen attendees gathered at 7 30 as Moderator Joseph M Edmonds opened the meeting. With no counter nominations the polls opened for 30 minutes and only 24 votes were cast.
The YM C A opens gymnasium programs for different groups. High school youths attend Monday and Thursday from 3 30 to 5. Business men meet 5 30 to 7 on Monday and Thursday. Senior basketball runs 7 to 8, and so on through intermediates grammar school and other sessions.
Bristol Chapter D A R will hold the first fall meeting at the home of Mrs. Robert F E Lanphear on Hope street Monday afternoon at 3 oclock.
