The Street Singer of Naples Second Performance

A large audience attended the second performance of The Street Singer of Naples at the Guiteras Memorial School auditorium Tuesday evening. The fundraiser for the Church of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel drew praise for director Miss Dora L. Ruggiero and the local cast with Prof. S. A. Giglio's Orchestra providing pre show and intermission music.

Pastor Wilfred E. Stone to Speak at Union Service

Providence Sun staff feature writer and Knightsville community church pastor Wilfred E. Stone will deliver an address at the Union Service Sunday evening at 7 30 in the DeWolf Memorial Chapel. Judge Hammill Taken To Hospital After Illness

Judge Frank H. Hammill of the Fifth District Court was taken to St. Joseph's Hospital Providence this forenoon for treatment after being stricken at his home on Woodlawn Avenue. He went to the basement to attend to an early morning emergency before being admitted.

Judge Hamill Falls Ill En Route to Hospital

The text notes Judge Hamill became ill at the furnace and was moved to his room then to the hospital. Dr John R. Bernardo attended him and later Dr Frank E. McAvoy. By 130 PM this afternoon he was unconscious at the hospital.

The Bristol Lions Club entertained 20 Newport Lions Club members at Hotel Belvedere. CC C Getchell outlined Chamber plans including a community chest fund and Monday Reynolds School meeting for committee appointments. The event followed a Newport vs Bristol bowling match at State Street Alleys.

Gutteras School Thanksgiving Program Highlights Local Talent

The Gutteras Memorial School staged a Thanksgiving program on a Wednesday forenoon. The two act play Thanksgiving Time in Plymouth featured Mary Sisson, Jean Tobin, Joseph Connery, and others. A comedy sketch Polly, Put the Kettle On was also performed by Doris MacDonald Susie Agietello John Travers and others. The program closed with Thanksgiving songs and The Star Spangled Banner.

Thanksgiving Observances and Festivities Across Town

Observances of Thanksgiving Day filled the town with church services, family dinners, and charitable baskets for the needy. Weddings occurred at St Marys and St Elizabeths while large crowds attended First Congregationals service and Passtime Theatre performances. Holiday meals in several inns and homes, plus dances by Battery C and Primrose Club events, closed with quiet streets and cool weather.

K of C Bingo Party a Great Success

The Bristol Council 379 Knights of Columbus hosted a Bingo Party at the K of C Home on Tuesday evening. About 100 attendees enjoyed the program with prizes including 26 turkeys, ten vegetable baskets, ten grocery baskets, 12 25 lb bags of sugar, 24 boxes of candy, and other articles. The organizing committee featured James F. Wylie as chairman and members Frank L. Doran Joseph L. King Robert J Connery and Thomas J. Tobin.

A Reynolds School program of Thanksgiving related exercises was held on Wednesday forenoon. The event featured flag salute, readings including The Star Spangled Banner and The Thanksgiving Proclamation, tableaus of Pilgrim children, and selections like A Thanksgiving Ride The Mince Pie King The Little Pilgrim and The First Thanksgiving Dinner. Students from grades 5SA2 and 6A2 performed, with vocal and instrumental pieces and a concluding America song.
