Priest dies on train on way to Warren in heart failure
Rev Francisco V Dennis of St Elizabeth's Church collapsed on a Consolidated train after leaving this town at 9 20 Sunday morning. Medical examiner said death was due to heart failure. He was 61, born in Terceira Azores Islands, and served as curate for 2 1 2 years. Funeral in St Elizabeth's Church will be held tomorrow at 10 with Rt Rev William A Hickey presiding. Burial at St Mary's Cemetery with Holy Name Society guards in attendance.

Vargas Fails to Answer Summons in Federal Liquor Case
Joseph Vargas proprietor of a Thames street saloon failed to appear before U S Commissioner Archibald C Matteson to answer a charge of possessing distilled spirits on November 16. He was adjudged probably guilty and cited for action in the Federal Court. It is likely Special Assistant United States Attorney General John F Collins will move to forfeit the $1000 bail posted by Frank Quintal and re-arrest Vargas under heavier bonds.
