Residents seek end to 99-year leases for low rent housing
Fourteen years into a proposed 60 unit low income housing project, 104 residents near the Mt Hope Ave town highway garage petitioned the town council to halt 99-year leases to Raymond Construction Co. They cite drainage, flood risk, added school burden, and land suitability. The council recently revoked permits and defended its actions while Raymond Construction pursues a joint meeting to resolve the dispute.

Bristol council fires town engineer and cancels liquor permit
The Bristol town council, now with a Democratic majority, discharged town engineer Joseph G. A. Riccio citing 11 alleged misconduct instances from August and September. It also revoked a liquor license granted to Mary Santulli for a Ferry Road eatery, citing legal and zoning concerns. The vote also refused a $10,466 legal bill for Riccio’s defense and approved plans for a police station renovation with bids now invited.
