Colt closes its season Thanksgiving Day at Victory Field Barrington meeting at 10 am both teams 2 and 5. Barrington and Colt each beat North Providence and North Kingstown while losing to South Kingstown Burrillville East Greenwich. Barrington leaders Rene DeMarco and Bob Larisa top scorers for the squad.
District Director John A. O Connell said federal income tax forms for the 1956 filing season will reach taxpayers between December 27 and January 10. Taxpayers who filed in 1955 will receive forms from the central mailing plant in Kansas City based on their prior year return. Those with address changes will get forms if the Post Office has their new location.
Brig Gen. John M McGreevy stated that a 600‑foot separate entrance for the new National Guard armory is a must despite no final decision on exterior improvements. Veterans officials criticized the entrance while the Department of Administration will decide on items like a parking lot landscaping and utilities.
A westbound car on Griswold Avenue struck a rut and ice, slammed into a telephone pole, and left three sailors hurt. Driver Donald Westfall 22 said speed was about 25 mph. Raymond Hayes was thrown through the windshield and taken to Newport Naval Hospital. Peter Daintel 18 sustained facial and leg injuries and was treated by Dr. William Serbst. The car suffered heavy front damage and was towed from the scene.
