Three Sailors Injured In Griswold Ave Car Crash
A westbound car on Griswold Avenue struck a rut and ice, slammed into a telephone pole, and left three sailors hurt. Driver Donald Westfall 22 said speed was about 25 mph. Raymond Hayes was thrown through the windshield and taken to Newport Naval Hospital. Peter Daintel 18 sustained facial and leg injuries and was treated by Dr. William Serbst. The car suffered heavy front damage and was towed from the scene.
