Nurse Saves Mother and Baby from Gas Poisoning
A visiting nurse and local residents prevented a gas tragedy on Bradford Street in Bristol. Miss Mary Casey detected escaping gas in the Luce tenement and aided a fainting mother, while bystanders carried the mother and two month old to safety. Plumber Albert Brunelli shut off the gas valve after detecting the leak. Dr Paul Bruno gave aid to the stricken woman.

Charles Cole Duffy of the Bristol Post Office becomes Assistant Postmaster following the retirement of William J. McShane. Three Bristol couples wed on Thanksgiving Day in ceremonies at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church St Elizabeths Church and a third local church. Miss Madeline Camera and Raymond Bisbano led the day with a large wedding party and ornate decor. A reception followed at B T A Hall before the couple planned a New York Washington honeymoon.

Columba n Fathers Sail Nov 28 for China Mission
Rhode Island priests Rev John Crafton and Rev James O Kane, both St Columbans seminary alumni, will sail for China on November 28 to join Shanghai mission work. They will study Chinese at the Shanghai language school for a year before entering interior mission fields. Also sailing is Father Timothy Leahy returning to China after a Muscatine visit.

Boy Falls From Moving Auto on Metacom Avenue
A five year old Taunton boy narrowly escaped serious injury when he fell from the door of a moving auto on Metacom avenue. Russell Soares, riding with Silvia of 28 Benefit street, Taunton, was aided by a woman who attempted to catch him. He was taken to Francis Farm and Dr. C Paul Bruno advised X rays for possible internal injuries. Silvia was en route to fetch Mrs Soares, the boy's mother.
