Panel Will Tackle Incinerators

The Bristol dump study committee will resume sessions tomorrow night with new council instructions to study purchasing an incinerator. The council last week urged data gathering and to consider locating it at Minturn Farm, despite Probate Judge L. Martin opposing its use there as a breach of terms of the land gift. Councilman Jerome Donovan said the town could seize the land by eminent domain if needed. The committee’s preliminary report urged an incinerator and a move back to Minturn. Details on refuse disposal and surveys were said to be needed before site selection, with a two week observation period planned and truck capacity noted at 165 cubic yards per day.
