United States Rubber War Products Exhibit At Bristol Plant
An exhibit at the Bristol plant of United States Rubber Company showcased war products and cable and wire samples for the Signal Corps Navy and Army. The display included life rafts anti-aircraft gear aviation fuel tanks diving suits and rubber parts for tanks and jeeps among many items. A film illustrated production and uses with plant shots while executives served as guides.

Two Bristol Youths Enlist as Pilots at Maxwell Field
Two local Bristol youths, Joseph C Rezendes Jr and Leo Simmel, reported to the Army Air Forces Pre-Flight School for Pilots at Maxwell Field Alabama to begin pilot training. Rezendes is the son of Mr and Mrs Joseph Rezendes of 104 Bay View Avenue and Simmel is the son of Mr and Mrs William Simmel of 48 Garfield Avenue. Both are graduates of Bristol Senior High School Class of 1943.
