High School Attendance and Scholarship Winners Named
At Colt High School the first quarter attendance winner was Sophomores of Room 3 with 99.04 percent. Standings: Juniors Room 2 98.62, Sophomores Room 4 97.38, Seniors Room 1 96.77. Ten week average attendance was 97.95 percent. The Sophomores of Room 3 received the attendance banner. The Seniors won the scholarship contest with 95.6 percent and also received the banner for top scholarship.
New Dwelling and Sales Room for Mrs Emma O H Larned
A contract has been awarded to Ernest W Weaver for a Colonial style dwelling and sales room for Mrs Emma O H Larned at the northeast corner of Ferry Road and Griswold Avenue. Excavations for the foundations began last week. The building will measure about 46 by 27 feet and was designed by Howe and Church.

Beacon Crash Destroys Franklin High Street Signal
A car driven by Charles DeW. Brownell of 30 Walley street struck the traffic beacon at Franklin and High, ripping off the tank and dome and moving the cement base about six feet. Police report says Brownell, eastbound on Franklin, hit the beacon while braking to avoid another car.

Arrest on Assault Charge Involving Local Man
Alfonso Giglio of Reservoir Avenue was arrested this forenoon on a warrant from Mrs. Gerardo Pastore of Goulart Avenue charging him with assaulting her son Antonio Marino 18. Marino, employed at Collins and Aikman Mills, was punched on the left eye as he walked home from work about 5 o clock Wednesday. Giglio pleaded not guilty and posted bail of 100.
