Town meeting to seek funds for platting and fire hose

The Board of Tax Assessors will ask at a Reynolds School special meeting for up to five thousand dollars to modernize platting records and card index systems. The Fire Engineers seek three thousand dollars to buy hose, adapters, nozzles, and parts, citing hose test failures and aging equipment. A four thousand dollar request from Work Relief aims to aid relief efforts, and the Council pursues an unspecified sum to cover current-year bills.

Red Cross Roll Call Continues In Bristol

Recreation Group Will Hear New Yorker Give Suggestions

Chester H Smith of New York a National Recreation Association field worker will address the Citizens Recreation Advisory Committee tonight at 8 in the Y M C A building. Officials civic leaders and organization reps attend to hear survey plans for town recreational facilities and needs and possible program ideas for the March town meeting. Bristol Boy Scout Drum Corps Second Annual Concert and Revue

The Bristol Boy Scout Bugle and Drum Corps will perform a second annual Concert and Revue on Thursday November 27 at 8 pm in Colt Memorial High School auditorium. The event features a drummer and bugler contest with preliminaries and finals that night, plus a star lineup of singers and entertainers. Proceeds fund a uniform fund for next summer’s competition season. tickets are sold at Suzman’s on Hope Street and by corps members.

Workers to Receive Week's Vacation With Pay at Bristol Frocks

One hundred Bristol Frocks workers are granted a paid one week vacation under a supplementary agreement with the International Ladies Garment Workers Union. The firm will fund a vacation pool via a weekly payroll deduction, to be disbursed by the union, marking a first for local garment plants.

Bristol parents toured eight public schools this week as part of National Education Week. They observed student work and heard regular lectures with demonstrations in science home economics and milk testing. Wilmot urges Bristol fire force up to 200 men

Frederick A. Wilmot secretary of the State Defense Council urged Bristol to increase its fire department from 160 to 200 volunteers to meet growing danger.
