Armistice Day Celebration Planned With Parade And Banquet
The local Armistice Day program marks the ninth anniversary with events starting November 10 including a 7:30 p.m. concert at Hotel Belvedere by the Portuguese Independent Band, a flag raising, chimes, a grand parade, a 3 p.m. football game, a 8 p.m. banquet and a night program, featuring Judge Ira Lloyd Letts as speaker and Judge Edward L. Leahy as toastmaster. The parade forms on the common and travels through State and Hope streets, with bands, scouts, fire crews, and military units, ending in a band concert and Armistice Ball at the Armory.
