Colt and Warren Face Battle on Haffenreffer Field

Colt Memorial High School and Warren High meet in the annual Bristol County football classic at Haffenreffer Field Metacom Avenue with both teams aiming for divisional honors. A Monday evening banquet at the Hotel Belvedere will honor Bristol baseball players from the championship Bristol team that won the annual series with Warren. Also invited are members of the Twilight League Board of Governors as guests.

Four Bands To Participate In Armistice Day Parade

The Bristol observance committee announced four local bands will join the Armistice Day parade after a meeting at the Hotel Belvedere. The Bristol Train of Artillery Portuguese Independent and Boys' Community bands will take part, with $10 donated to the Boy Scout band uniform fund. Events start Friday with the Armistice Ball at Bristol Casino and close Saturday night at Grand Army Hall, followed by Armistice Memorial services on Sunday morning and evening.

Christmas food sale and bingo by Hope Chapter OES

A highly successful Christmas food sale and bingo party was held last evening in the Borkc Club rooms on Hope Street. Miss Margaret Findlay led the food sale with assistance from Mrs Celia Akin Mrs Martha Cahoon Mrs Harriet Munro Mrs Rachel Simmons Mrs Annie Richardson and Miss Edith Coggeshall. Bristol Harbor Shellfish Fines Hit Thirteen Men

Thirteen Bristol men, including Thomas Morrissey and Pietro Orazio, were fined $20 plus costs for removing shellfish from polluted Bristol harbor waters against a State Shellfish Commission order. One juvenile was released to juvenile court. others faced jail or fines for related offenses. Assistant DA DeCiantis condemned the acts as a threat to public health and warned of potential embargoes on the eastern shore.

Phoenix Reporter Involved In Shoe Plant Fire Rescue

Phoenix reporter Joseph Quartaro played a key role in stopping a fire at New England Shoe Mfg Co in the Rubber Co complex on Wood and Franklin streets. Body of Fisherman Found At Church Street Wharf

The body of Henry Oscar Hamilton an Oakland Beach fisherman was found Sunday morning near his boat at Church street wharf. Dr. John R. Bernardo ruled accidental drowning after viewing the body which had been in the water about seven hours. Hamilton aged 57 58, a Riverside former resident, survived by his widow Mrs Eleanor F Hamilton and two sons.
