URI offers free diagnostic therapy at Hearing and Speech Center
URI's Hearing and Speech Center expands free clinical services for Rhode Islanders with hearing and speech problems. The center, directed by Dr Walter Beaupre, operates 9-11 am and 2-4 pm weekdays in Independence Hall room SD-5. It serves as a graduate training facility for URI, examining about 200 mentally retarded children last year and assisting stroke and post operative patients, with appointments at 792 2552.
