Town Reports Budget Shortfall Delays Highway Projects

Town Engineer Harvey S Jewell reports total cost of street projects at 126,996.11 with 70,000 available from a 250,000 bond appropriation. Bristol Chamber of Commerce to Meet at Belvedere

The November meeting of the Bristol Chamber of Commerce at the Hotel Belvedere will be held next Monday evening under the Mercantile Division. Dinner at 7, with addresses by Mills, Banspach of Olneyville, and Representative James F. Lavander on proposed legislation aiding country town merchants. Attendees urged to send reply posts.

Industrial Hall Rally Draws Close to 100 Attendees

Nearly 100 men and boys attended the Industrial Hall rally. M J Brinés of Boston led song as ladies served supper. Secretary Dodge, Bristol River, and Secretary Andrews of the Army Navy Association spoke on loyalty and unity. Colby detailed department work. Holm urged steady effort. International Brotherhood Orchestra provided music.

Kearney Post Meeting Calls Members to Attend Tonight

The regular monthly gathering of Kearney Post American Legion and Ladies Auxiliary convenes at 8 oclock in G A R Hall. Members must elect a nominating committee for officers for the coming year, with December voting to follow. Banquet ticket extensions end at meeting close.

Bristol Train of Artillery Plans Winter Drills and Shoots

The Bristol Train of Artillery met at the State Street Armory to adopt by law changes and plan winter work. Indoor range practice will occur each Monday before drill with several competitive shoots anticipated. A Warren Artillery shoot is planned for Thanksgiving at Prospect Farm range. The social committee reported last month’s socials successful and announced next Thursday’s gathering.

Shower For Bride-Elect Mae Conroy In Warren

The Misses Rockett hosted a miscellaneous shower for Mae Conroy the November bride elect at their Warren home. Halloween color yellow and black decorated the dining room with cat place-cards and bonbon baskets. a salad supper followed. Miss Conroy received many gifts as she entered amid rose petals and a yellow umbrella. music and dancing plus games provided the entertainment.
