Labor endorses Lavander for Bristol seat in 1922

A Providence letter from Arthur W Devine praised Representative James F Lavander of Bristol for pushing the Forty eight Hour Bill through the Rhode Island House on March 15 1922 and advancing labor interests against mill lobbyists. Schlosser Promoted to General Manager of U S Rubber

Myron H Clark resigns from United States Rubber Company and George Schlosser is appointed General Manager of footwear and miscellaneous factories effective November 1 1922. Schlosser will base in New York City and oversee factories including National India Rubber Company. The promotion is seen as well deserved and Schlosser may remain president of National India Rubber Co. The Schlossers plan to return soon from a six week trip to France England and Germany.

Bristol district joins Rhode Island in a Forget-Me-Not Day to sell tags for Disabled American Veterans funds. The Bristol committee led by B W Wall and local ladies aims to resume welfare visits and gifts to veterans, with headquarters at Howe Memorial Library Y M C A Building.

Republican Rally at Pastime Theatre Town Candidates to Speak

The second Republican rally of the week will be at the Pastime Theatre tonight at eight. Speakers include U. S. Senator LeBaron B. Colt Lieut. Governor Harold J. Gross gubernatorial candidate Mrs Ray Cox Flint A V Ptine Charles A Walsh and Walter E Munroe senatorial candidate. Randell Philip Coura of Boston with the Grand Aerie of Eagles is also expected to address the Old Age Pension Bill. A noon rally is planned Monday at 12 30 in front of the National India Rubber Company factory with William Needham and Thomas McGauley speaking.
